Out of the box...AMAZING!!! Added these to my Fluance AVHTB+ Surround Sound Home Theater 5 Speaker System. First off... once again the packaging was perfect. Secondly, the sound is incredible!!! There is no way in the world I would spend 300 to 400 on surround speakers! Trust me these will get the job done hands down. I just replaced the Rear Surround Satellite Speakers for now but I plan on doing the 7.1 but I dont need to...HUGE difference from the smaller Satellite Speakers. I did bi-wire my whole set-up which is pretty easy to do and well worth it. Obviously, you should invest in a decent sub since you will save on the set-up anyway.

Nice quality, look good on the wall and perform very respectfully considering the price and my compromised placement with one side of my entertainment area open and not providng the reflection necessary for bi-polar speakers. These are used as R/L surrounds in a 5.1 system, with a nice denon amp. Small drivers so they lack bass and run off at 125Hz. I had to crank the sub rolloff on the sub as high as it goes at 120 hz. I have the AVHTB+ and use these as a replacement for the R/L surrounds. Overall very happy, but you will need a sub to be satisfied with this system as base is weak for anything other than a very small room..

I give these speakers top marks. I have them set up for surround L&R and the bipolar design gives great spatial presence. The high quality drivers produce crisp, clear detailed sound.

Added these to my AVHTB 5.1 system to complete my 7.1 system. Originally was just gonna swap out rear speakers for these, the sound difference is amazing. These don't have to be aimed like the original surround speakers, sound radiates from all directions. After having the bipolar speakers hooked up I decieded to run more wire in the attic and finish my 7.1 system. To be honest just swapping the rears out sounded awesome, not much different than the 7.1 setup. Definitely worth the $100 they're charging, very well made. If you have the AVHTB speakers threes are a big improvement over the included rears. And if your surround can do 7.1 its a no brainer...go for it...you won't be disappointed.

I bought these after hearing a friend's Fluance AVHTB+ Surround Sound Home Theater 5 Speaker System 5.1 system. I was planning on an upgrade from 5.1 to 7.1. My speakers were all Wharfedale, but Wharfedale no longer makes the bipolar surround I wanted, so I thought I would try these as my side surrounds until I could find something that matched my Wharfedale Vanguard based system better.
I was blown away! These inexpensive little surround satellites timbre matched very closely with my Wharfedales and they sound amazing! The ferro-fluid cooled neodynium tweeters are sharp and precise without being etchy, scratchy, or fatiguing. The mid-range is smooth and solid, full without being bloated.
In my room the base from these rolls off at about 125, so I did have to raise the crossover point on my sub to 120. But everything blended smoothly from there and I am super pleased.
Could you use these without a sub? No. But so what, that's not what they are intended for. If you appreciate the qualities that a good bipolar design brings to the surround positions, then you owe it to yourself to give these a listen. They may or may not match the timbre of your existing speakers as well as they did mine, but for the price they are simply a must listen!
My search is done, and these will remain on my walls for a LONG time.

I've owned a pair of these as my primary living room speakers, hooked to my main AV system. I must say they have out-performed my old Bose speakers in every aspect! Highly recommended.

I've had these speakers for well over a year now, (I have 3 of them for a 6.1 system) and they are absolutely superb! After a relatively short break in period of regular use, they will yield hours of unparalleled listening pleasure. They handle just about anything you throw at them; the imaging is clear and dynamic. They are well constructed, and the value you get for the price of these babies is off the charts. I cannot recommend these speakers highly enough. I'm waiting for them to come back in stock to I can add another one to create a full 7.1 system for use with a Blu-Ray player (most likely the Oppo BDP 83 when it's released). Look no further than these speakers if you are in the market for surround speakers...you will not regret it!
